Jonas Petchonka

This is the space where pretentious people would insert the biography they had written for themselves. Thankfully, I'm not so far detached from reality to suffer from delusions of grandeur. With that, here goes my attempt at a biography: Born the son of a professional ballet dancer, I have spent my life in the world of theatre, dance & various performing arts. While my previous employers made me list every single accomplishment and accolade, I can truthfully say that nobody ever stopped me on the street and asked "Hey, aren't you Jonas Petchonka, the guy who won all those ballroom awards and competitions?" In all honesty, being an accomplished dancer is not what makes a teacher great. Rather, the ability to convey the essence of what dance is in simple, easy to understand terms is what makes a teacher great, and from what I've been told, I'm pretty good at that (unless you ask my kids; they seem to think I make everything difficult).
